CurtainUp London Contributor Brian Clover Here, in his own words, is London critic Brian Clover's biography: I teach English at London's Greenwich College but, like many of my kind, have a weakness for writing as well as reading. In 2000 I was a winner of the Bridport Poetry Competition and in 2001 my play Four Sex Acts during the Reign of Queen Victoria-- an attempt to rescue the outrageous poet Swinburne from undeserved obscurity - was produced in York. I am also proud to be part of Britain's glorious radio comedy writing tradition -- admittedly nowhere as glorious as it once was, due to the suits - having contributed topical gags and sketches to a number of shows over the years, as well as satirical stuff for a variety of variety shows. I live in a large creaky house near Blackheath with a dog and two children, all of whom are wiser and more talented than I am. |
